True Colours Model and Talent Agency has put together a workshop for young women age 13 – 25, who want to get into and succeed in the modeling industry and whom we know could benefit from insider tips and a whole lot of self-esteem!!
The 'Look at Me' Self Esteem Model Intensive Workshop is for the uplifting of our young women, teaching them skills that will take them to the next level whether it be in fashion or life in general. They will be trained on grooming techniques, skincare, hair care, nail care, healthy diet, fitness, wardrobe/styling, public speaking, print, runway, commercial, posing and much more. The Workshops begin June 2008 running every third weekend of the month until October 2008.
We've put together a fun and interactive Workshop filled with challenges and activities. Industry professionals will also come and share their knowledge and insider tips with you!
Our first workshop will be held on Sunday June 29th at the Harbourfront Community Centre from 11am – 5pm.
The day will consist of Industry guest speakers teaching you techniques to help you succeed in the industry. Concentration will be on skin care and makeup application, Posing for print and catalogue, runway walks, go-sees and castings, and booking the job.
Guest Speakers for the June 29th workshop include:
Kendra Francis and Lucian Matis – Designers from Project Runway Canada – Will give you insight as to what a designer is looking for in a model or muse, how to present yourself at go sees and how to work a fashion show.
Drea – Model from Project Runway Canada - Will demonstrate how to master your own Runway walk and how to stay alive in the industry.
Trevor F – Director/Producer - Much Music – Will talk about what to expect at a casting and how to book that commercial job.
Taj C – CEO of Maxamus Entertainment (L’il X, J Diggz) - Will give you insight into what he expects from talent at one of his video sets and give you an insider’s look into the music video world.
A MAC COSMETICS Representative will be on site to give you makeup techniques and demonstrations to ensure that your best features are always shining through!
There will also be a mini photo shoot at the end of the day provided by OPIQUE where you’ll get to showcase all of the skills you’ve learned from the workshop! You’ll get to go home with your best shot for your portfolio!
At the end of the series, we will choose the 3 best models to do an editorial in a leading Canadian Fashion Magazine AND 1 special model will be chosen as the face of the next GOLDEN QUEEN Hair Products Campaign!!!!
